Beverage Careers Food Careers The purpose of the Inventory Control Manager position is to manage inventory levels and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
o Maintain branch inventory in compliance with standardized Food Division inventory control management procedures to ensure integrity and reduce shrink loss.
o Maintain physical inventory procedures, count teams, and organize the preparation and count with the assistance of the Division Controller.
o Initiate and monitor procedures that will ensure inventory variance does not exceed company guidelines.
o Organize and verify inventory by planning item locations.
o Ensure compliance with operational best practices that result in a balanced online vs.
physical inventory.
o Ensure online inventory system is in synchronization with the physical inventory by taking physical counts, tracking lost items and adjusting records.
o Identify causes of variance and ensure corrections are made.
o Establish monthly cycle count schedules and ensure adherence by relevant personnel.
o Ensure adherence to the best slotting practices, such as prompt slotting of new items, and re-slotting to increase productivity and reduce damage.
o Perform administrative tasks to monitor and maintain physical inventory counts.
o Meet with vendors and buyers to resolve inventory issues that negatively affect company profitability.
o Monitor return driver check-in procedures and ensure all returned product is accurately accounted for and stored appropriately.
o Perform daily write-up of unsaleable product, and maintain accountability of damaged product.
o Complete data entry of unsaleable product in the company's inventory management system.
o Communicate with Division Controller to resolve issues that may arise.
o Assist Operations Manager in meeting financial and operational objectives to maximize branch productivity.
o Assist Operations Manager with Branch's Selector Error Program to correct errors in shipping and receiving.
o Set an example for all operations associates through professional and ethical management practices.
o Assist the Operations Manager with the enforcement of strict inbound guidelines for fresh meat and poultry to consistently reduce spoils expense.
o Meet financial standards by providing annual budget information, monitoring of expenditures and implementing corrective actions.
o Manage and monitor dead and damaged inventory to optimize inventory levels.
o Establish inventory levels by studying supply usage patterns and forecasts, and coordinating with the purchasing department on reorder points.
o Evaluate dead inventory with the assistance of purchasing.
o Establish a program to reduce and eliminate dead stock.
o Oversee the warehouse damage consolidation and spoilage programs to reduce damage loss.
o Rotate product and remove out-of-date product from stock to prohibit shipping to customers.
o Bill vendors for out-of-date products.
o Manage the day-to-day tasks of direct reports and provide orientation, training, coaching and other HR objectives as needed.
o Assess performance of direct reports and provide feedback.
o Consistently demonstrate and model good management and self-management practices in support of BEK culture.
o Manage handling of recalls and ensure regulatory guidelines are met and maintained.
o Ensure inventory levels are optimized.
Job
Qualifications:
